Our first broadcast of the school year.

This is Hunter and I will be speaking about weather for the month of January. We are in the middle of the winter months. The weather is nice and cool. Currently in Hawaii you will see some cloudy and rainy days so dress appropriately. Bring your jackets with you. For most of the months you will see mostly clear skies and sunny weather but it will be cool. There'll be some rain but mostly sunny skies. The average low temperature will be in the high 60s and we'll get up to 76 in the day. We will have perfect weather to go the beach or play outside with your friends. On the mainland, we are seeing storms in California. Storms caused some flooding and landslides. There was hail, thunder, heavy rain, and sinkholes. They're predicting that the storm will get worse. On Tuesday the storm led to a weather phenomenon called thundersnow. It's an unusual type of weather where the storm produced snow instead of rain. 2 to 3 inches of snow fell this week. Back to the Big Island...There is a high surf advisory. These are dangerously high waves of up to 50 ft on the west facing shores. If you plan on going near the ocean to watch some whales, surf, or swim be careful out there. This is Hunter with the weather. Well hello everybody. Have you ever wondered what it would be like in the future? If you have, then you're just like me. If you've ever wondered what the technology would be like, you're also like me. But I've made sketches and stuff. I don't have one right now but, maybe on the next Kamaka minute, I might share more about this. So have you ever wondered if you could improve your body somehow? Biogenetics or Biogenetic Engineering can make you have wings or a stronger bite or heck even superhuman strength. But one thing is for sure: this might be coming in the future. My name is Autumn and I'm the Student Council president. I would like to introduce you all to our other student council officers. Our vice president from 4th grade is Sarah. Our treasurers are Jyler in 5th grade and Beah from 4th grade. Our secretary is Malu in 5th grade. The historians are Kaia from 5th grade, Kaitlyne in 4th grade, and Kainoa and Khloe from 3rd grade. Thank you all so much for the kids and Student Council who tried for a board position. Next thing I will be going over it some things that student council has done in the past. One of those things being that we before winter break we sold winter-themed stickers outside of the cafeteria in the mornings. Another thing we did was make the Halloween parade happen back in October. An important announcement is that on February 11th, 2023 we will be selling Krispy Kreme Donuts. So, if you want any, go visit a student council member or broadcast member. They are $15 a dozen and the pickup will be held here at Kohala Elementary from 9 a.m. to noon. That's Autumn with Student Council information Hello this is sports with Cyrus and Cheyenne. We interviewed Blaise Kise who is the athletic director at Kohala High School. We have lots of sports this season. We have softball, tennis, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and paddling. On the 18th of January, Kohala girls basketball won. Also, my mom is coaching Waimea volleyball so I hope we can compete. The coaches are teaching basic boys and girls sports. One more thing the 18th of January Kona boys basketball won. And that is the sports update of January. Aloha! Aloha. Aloha! My name is Sarah and I'm in 4th grade. My name is Jaynalyn and I from the 4th grade. My name is Kaia and I'm from 5th grade. We are going to do August through November for Pono Awards. For Preschool we have done Janella. Kindergarten: We have Trinity, Xavier, and Nafanua. First Grade: We have Joseph, Yari-rose, and Zaia. Second grade: We had David, Aunamarie, and Eva. Third grade: We have Hoaka, Chelsea, and Avery B. Fourth grade: We have Sarah, Jaynalyn, and Trylyn. Fifth Grade: We had Jyler, Audela, and Ishen. For the month of September we have Anaya from preschool. From Kindergarten we have Senna, Holau, and Natalie. From First Grade with have Hiʻilawe, Jazel, and Trevor. From Second Grade we have Kyndall, Gella and Jaylin. From Third Grade we have Mae, Zoë, and Joezee. From fourth grade we have Mutsu, Avery, and Makamae. From Fifth Grade we have Maile, Taeya, and Autumn. From October we have Gia from preschool. From kindergarten we have Johnny, JP, and Francis. From First Grade we have Aloha, Titan, and Gabriel. From second grade we have Chevy, Ikaia, and Alexia. From Third Grade we have Zhai, Ella, and Emiko. From Fourth Grade we have Adrian, Levai, and Easton. From Fifth Grade we have Khloe, Akima, and Lexi. For November for preschool we have Jyrin. For kindergarten we have Leialynn, Tony, and Taiten. For first grade we had Zaric, Faith, and Brielle. For second grade we have Kaylee, Bindi, and Jace. For Third Grade we had Sledge, Harmony, and Hailee-Rose. For Fourth grade we have Tyana, Kala, and Michaela. For Fifth Grade we have Elijah, Makana, and James. Congratulations everyone!
